Graduation part II will have to wait. I seriously hate form letters:
"We are currently pursuing candidates whose skills, background and/or seniority more closely fit the requirements for this position."
I'm actually kind of amused by this statement, at least the part about seniority being one possible reason why I didn't get the job. The job would have been awesome though, because it was part health promotion/program planning, and part actually getting to teach group sessions on physical activity and nutrition. The only downside was that it was in California, but that's kind of a moot point now!
I also think it's funny that this email arrived tonight after I just had a nice little chat today with the big boss about seriously considering a permanent position with our new consulting line. So, I've got an open door for 2-3 more weeks while they finalize the job description... and then I will have to make a for-real final decision to accept the interview or somehow magic up another job. (And of course, if I get no other job, then my decision is kind of made for me.)
I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this yet, but since I had a minor breakdown last night as I sorted some things out, I feel more calm today. I'm okay with this, no matter how it goes down. (I think.)
On the upside, as soon as I figure this out, I can find an apartment (so I'm not homeless at the end of August), get a new car (even though Kelly rocks for letting me borrow hers), and start making plans for the rest of the year (instead of shrugging my shoulders every time someone asks what I'm doing in a couple of months). Gotta love it.
