After Maddie got to see Providence, we went back to New York. We spent the first day doing every tourist thing possible—the things you see just to say that you’ve seen them. We went to Times Square (very crowded, as expected), took the Statten Island Ferry past the Statue of Liberty, and walked around in the biggest branch of the New York Public Library (which had painted ceilings reminiscent of, but not nearly as cool as, the ceilings in a lot of the universities in Spain).
