Excuse #1: New York
Primarily for Maddie's bridal shower. I had forgotten what it's like to be in an apartment with close girlfriends, and we had so much fun! We giggled and piled into the same bed to talk talk talk and went to an Alice-in-Wonderland tea house. We talked about all kinds of things (a nice break from the life-planning conversations I seem to get into all the time) and made my brownies and the famous Mack crescent rolls!

Julie and Maddie, you make my heart happy. :)

Excuse #2: A boy
(Not just any boy, of course.) Tony (the b/f) also came down from WestPoint for the weekend.

(Not the best pic ever. One day, I will learn how to keep my eyes open completely.)
He very good-naturedly went to the library during the actual bridal shower-- no boys allowed! And, we all did brunch together on Easter morning. He brought me flowers too, because he's sweet like that.

And after he was allowed back in the apartment, we went to the Empire State building. I love city lights at night, and we got there early enough to watch the sun set too!

We had a good time. :)
Now back in RI, I am hitting the ground running again, but as of last night, I am finished with my first final presentation! Less than ONE MONTH until I am finished with 9+ months, 50+ pages, countless presentations, and my first year of grad school!!! (You can't tell I'm excited though, right?) Rock and roll.
